When I was a teenager in high school and after considerable nagging, my parents bought me a second-hand C64 and that's where my introduction into programing took place.
Prior to this computer the only other computer I had access to was a 286/386 and that we primarily used for games, word processing and the occasional batch program.
The C64 featured a 1MHz CPU, 64 KB RAM, ran the Commodore BASIC Operating system and could display 25 X 40 characters of text with a resolution of 320 X 200 at 16 colours max.
More C-64's have been sold than any other single computer system, even to this day.
